Gully Boys w/ Pollyanna and She/Wrecks

They’re not dads from Vermont. Gully Boys are, in fact, Minnesota-based rockers Kathy, Nadirah, and Natalie. Their chemistry and confidence on stage make it hard to believe that in 2017, none of them knew how to play their instruments. Through tenacity and talent, they were named Minnesota’s Best New Band by City Pages in 2018 and just finished their first international tour. The band counts 90’s grunge heros Courtney Love and No Doubt as inspiration, but their tight pop hooks and big choruses are anything but nostalgic. Gully Boys released their first LP, Not So Brave, in late 2018 to a flurry of media attention. Their song “Dizzy Romantics” is on regular rotation on NPR’s “The Current” and has attracted social media shoutouts from national acts like Hippo Campus and Har Mar Superstar.

Pollyanna is a rising local band out of West Palm Beach, Florida, that began in 2012 under the name “The Light Within.” Fast forward to 2017, the band decided that a name change was in order, due to a change in sound and adding members. The band strives to push the boundaries in pop punk music by using complex riffs and song structure seen in post-hardcore, with ear-worm vocal melodies found in pop music. Pollyanna blends these unique qualities effortlessly to perform their own brand of pop punk. Since their reformation as Pollyanna, they have released their first cover and, are currently writing their debut EP.
