About the artist: Los Angeles based electronic duo Spike Hellis comprises of Cortland Gibson and Elaine "Lainey" Chang, who got their start on Halloween of 2019. They self-released their first full-length, self-titled album in April 2022 under their imprint Over-Pop. The album chaotically shifts pace back and forth, with the songs running seamlessly into one another. The record opens with "Control (Rage)", a layered, firm-handshake body-music track designed to hijack the amygdala. The kick drum resembles the steady flash of a panic button. You press it, but nothing happens—no relief. The irregular placement of snare matches Chang’s cries of dysregulation, spiraling red-eyed after having lost command asking, “Will I regain control?” While presented as a song of despair, optimism and determination shine through in the final line as the question is taken back and turned into a statement, “Watch me regain control”. This is a theme that permeates throughout the album: Taking challenging times of despair and coming through the other end with hope and optimism. Spike Hellis (S/T) was made with the intention to feel jolting. Techno-tinged "Flight" is an SH-101 track wherein lyrical instructions for escaping a dream are chanted over the iconic rubber band sound, with the claps paying homage to Charlie's "Spacer Woman". "Slices" is the funky first single which leads into its supplementary counterpart, "Stitches". Footsteps grow louder until it opens into a dark waltz. Samples of William S. Burroughs cackling ring out over Emulator arpeggios until we arrive at "Teardrops (Kisses)". While it is perhaps the most light-hearted track on the album sonically, themes of social punishment and isolation push through the surface to reveal conflict at its core. Chang and Gibson trade off cries of shame and humiliation while distorted synths swirling in polyrhythms close out Side A. Side B continues with the song "Help"—a straight-forward, freestyle number with a pinch of synth-pop. The disjointed "Cause of Death" may be the most challenging song on the record. Floating between major and minor scales and heavy handed sampling, this track takes Spike Hellis from the dance floor to the speedway. Lacing each verse with the line “I never rush, but I like to speed”, a nod to taking risks and enduring hardships in favor of triumph in the long run. Arguably the biggest cut from the record is the closing track "Mouth". This minimal track winds its way through a four-verse build. Chang’s pitch-shifted voice softly narrates a catch-and-release scenario in which baiting fish is used as allegory for manipulation. “Baby look at you, setting your hook in my mouth - Reel me in, rip it out”. Since finishing the album, Spike Hellis has hit the road hard with zero hesitation—completing tours throughout North America, Europe and Latin America. They've performed in good company with artists and friends, including ADULT., Kontravoid, Choir Boy, Portrayal of Guilt, Plack Blague, Pixel Grip, Twin Tribes and numerous others. They have made frequent appearances at festivals such as Cold Waves, Ombra, Grauzone, Sound and Fury, Substance and Sanctum. Blasting their bleak outlook and spreading their gospel of disenchantment and sarcasm, Spike Hellis announce their arrival.

About the artist: Drawing on The Golden Bough by James Frazer, the Laws of Contagion and Similarity suggest that contact or resemblance creates lasting, almost magical bonds. Music can act as such a conduit—an emotional thread linking artist and listener. Stygian Bough Volume II, a collaboration between Bell Witch (Dylan Desmond, Jesse Shreibman) and Aerial Ruin, embodies this idea. Across four tracks, the album forms a distinct entity while retaining ties to both artists’ roots. It explores cycles of worship—how awe can empower, consume, and transform. The opening track, “Waves Became The Sky,” expands on themes from Bell Witch’s earlier work, contrasting scientific and superstitious thinking through layered harmonies and immersive sound. “King of the Wood” delves into scale and perception, shifting between crushing doom and cosmic atmospheres. “From Dominion” blends dark folk and soaring melodies, while the 19-minute closer, “Told and Leadened,” reflects on cycles of power through rising and falling intensity. Recorded by Billy Anderson, a longtime collaborator, the album benefits from both creative familiarity and outside perspective. More structured than past work yet still fluid, it emphasizes polyphony and dynamic interplay. The result is a cohesive, mystical work examining the cultural and emotional threads that bind human experience, visually complemented by artwork from Denis Forkas.

About the artist: Playing a positive-natured brand of hardcore-tinged Celtic punk, Flatfoot 56 has been unleashing itself upon America and the rest of the world for over 20 years now. Forming in 2000, the Chicago natives achieved nationwide attention with their first two label-backed records, 2006’s Knuckles Up and 2007’s Jungle of the Midwest Sea. These releases built on a heavy dose of previously established regional notoriety, helping the band gain steam early on. While each record received its fair share of acclaim, the quintet exploded onto a new level with 2010’s Black Thorn. Landing the band on a total of 9 Billboard Charts, Flatfoot 56 proved it could consistently reach an expanding audience while treading in a genre not often associated with widespread success. This success was advanced even further with song placements in the hit TV series"Sons of Anarchy" and the video game "Watchdogs". After the success of "Blackthorn" Flatfoot hit the studio yet again in 2012 to record their Paper and plastic records backed "Toil" album. This album would further solidify the band as a consistent force to be reckoned with. Flatfoot 56’s latest full-length album, entitled "Odd Boat", was produced by Matt Allison at Atlas studios in Chicago. “We decided that since the last experience at Atlas Studios was so beneficial, we wanted to repeat it,” Bawinkel said. “We have been friends with Matt for a few years now and we love the work that he and his studio engineers do.” "Odd Boat" was a self-released album. “We have been working with labels so long that we decided that we wanted to have more of a say in how our music gets distributed and promoted. We are excited about this next season,” Bawinkel said. “As a band we have all grown a lot over the years and we wanted to stretch ourselves even further. Self release is a good way to do this." In 2018, Flatfoot 56 released the E.P. "The Vancouver Sessions". In this E.P., they restyled and recorded original songs from multiple albums acoustically. Some fans prefer these acoustic versions over their original versions as they highlight and emphasize the great storytelling element of these ballads. In 2022, Flatfoot 56 released their first Split E.P. They joined forces with the amazing band,The Rumjacks, and each released three new and original songs. They are available on vinyl, for digital download, and playing on Spotify and other streaming services. Frontman Tobin Bawinkel (vocals/guitar) is now set to lead Flatfoot 56 back into the studio. Armed with his brother Kyle (bass), along with their original piper Josh (bagpipes/mandolin), and Dan Alfonsi (Drums), Flatfoot 56 is in the process of writing their 8th full-length studio album.
